In The News:

Symmetrical Solutions is pleased to announce that the YMCA of Delaware has joined our family for support services. The YMCA of Delaware has been working with the application for many years and is clearly one of the leaders in its understanding, implementation and usage.  Their Chief Financial Officer, Lou Coxe, was instrumental in the development of PS98 with his extensive knowledge of all front desk and accounting operations.  We look forward to working with their experienced team in providing quality support and exciting new software systems.   The Delaware YMCA is now one of 10 YMCAs that have chosen to implement our new online registration system, Easy to Enroll™ and is schedule for implementation May 2005.

Symmetrical Solutions now supports and develops software for 20 associations directly or indirectly. We currently have 11 associations receiving direct support and another 4 associations receiving indirect support under an ASP agreement.  We have an additional 5 associations receiving direct support for our "Easy to" suite of products.  And our growth doesn’t end there…  In cooperation with two associations, we are working towards an agreement with 10 ASP prospects.  Symmetrical Solutions also continues its in depth discussions with three associations currently running the Y-Metro application.  These associations are in the process of reviewing our support services along with our software enhancements.

Symmetrical Solutions is pleased to announce our newest team member Gary Lutzen.  Gary will begin working with us May 2005 as a Programmer and Support Specialist (Quick wins here we come!).  He has performed special projects for us in the past providing him the expertise to make an immediate impact on our operations.

If you are planning on upgrading to IBM iSeries V5R3M0, you will need to upgrade the ASNA DataGate/400 product. IBM has modified a security API in this release requiring ASNA to upgrade its DataGate software for compatibility.  The Acceler8DB Manager version requirement remains the same at 5.1200.1.33.  You may download the new DataGate release (5.1200.1.50) from our FTP site at www.symmetrical-solutions.com.  Using the navigational menu system, click on Products, Downloads and then FTP Download Site.  Please submit a support request for installation assistance. This iSeries installation takes approximately 15 minutes.

Symmetrical Solutions will hold the next users conference this fall.  We are inviting the support and development partners to join the conference in expectation that all will be represented.  At this conference we will showcase our new version of Easy to Enroll™ along with sneak previews of the greatly anticipated redesigned membership system.  Additional information will be provided in the weeks to come.

As of April 20, 2005, the Greater Rochester YMCA and the YMCA of Central Maryland have received more than 2,820 web registrations using Easy to Enroll™ representing in excess of $115,815.00 in revenue. Easy to Enroll™ has been a complete success and installations of this product will continue in May and June 2005. Check out some of the features by going to www.rochesterymca.org and then click on the gym bag to access their online registration system.

Software Development:

Member and System Maintenance  (Delete, Hide, Change, Combine Archive and Reorganization)

In April 2005, we completed the new enhancements for Member and System Maintenance. There were new enhancements added for Archive and we also added in logic for the 12 new Easy to Enroll™ member and table files. These new enhancements and fixes are in Protivity™ 1.1 Build 2.

"Smart G/L"

In March 2005, we completed the new "Smart G/L" system. This system is built into Protivity and allows you to use any 3rd party Finance System with full integration for verification and the posting process. This system allows you to define your G/L structure that your finance system uses whether it is SGA, Daprex, Y-Vision, Y-Metro or any other finance system that you decide to use. We have also redesigned the Transaction Codes (formally called: Transaction Types) and what we call Adjustment Codes (formally called: Discounts, Adjustments and 3rd Party Codes). We have added new features in this part of the system for example: we now allow you to define the activity type in which the adjustment code is valid for. This eliminates a user selecting the wrong code for the wrong activity during the selling of an activity. These new enhancements are in Protivity 1.1 Build 1.

Protivity™ for Windows

In March 2005, we completed the new look and feel for all of our Windows products called Protivity™ for Windows. All of our products are now in one single installation and one launching menu. Each product is secured based on the users file in the iSeries. These new enhancements are in Protivity™ for Windows 1.0 Build 1 and forward.

Easy to Enroll™ - Phase II

In March 2005 our development partners voted and decided to increase the functionality of the Easy to Enroll™ product. Although this product was released in December 2004, it was decided to move ahead and add enhancements such as add-on tracking, deposits and registration fees, pre-defined billing plans for camp, membership renewals and online donations. We have completed the requirements list and are now in the process of defining the specifics of each new process. This release will be available by July 2005. We will be partnering with Innovative Solutions again in this phase for their work in the front-end style and design. All of the enhancements for Easy to Enroll™ Phase II will be for free of charge for all of our clients who have Easy to Enroll™ Phase I.

Quick Wins

In January and February 2005, we completed seven quick wins for Financial Development. These quick wins represent Report/Listing enhancements, Pledge Card enhancements and new base line checking for deceased, hidden and "OK to Solicit" in the Cultivation and Pledge Card creation.

Membership

The membership enhancements requirements were defined and shared with our development partners. Based on all of the new requirements, the total number of man-hours to complete this project was over 1,100. The development partners decided to put this project on hold until Easy to Enroll™ Phase II is complete. Once Easy to Enroll™ Phase II is complete, development on the new Membership enhancements will begin with deployment scheduled for 1st quarter 2006.

Tips & Techniques:

Question: Can I attach personal information screens to the member demographic flow?

Yes, You can attach personal information screens to the member demographic - "WM" workflow. This helps your users when they need to collect additional member based information. Instead of the user having to remember to type in "WP" (Work with Personal Information) after the main demographic screens, the personal information screens can now be automatically displayed and maintained. You can set this up by going to the System Table File Menu (SYSTABL), option 3 - Add Personal Information to Member Work Flow. You can setup personal information screens for Individual and/or Organization members.

Question: Can I send an email directly from the iSeries (AS/400)?

Yes, You can send an email directly from the iSeries (AS/400) by typing in on the command line: SNDEML  (then press F4=Prompt). The send email command was developed by Symmetrical Solutions to integrate with our applications. For example: When we send out a confirmation to a participant in Easy to Enroll, we use the SNDEML command and the iSeries takes care of the rest. You will need to install our Easy to Mail product in order for this to work. Easy to Mail is free of charge for our clients and can be downloaded from the FTP site.

Question: Can I create user-defined workflows?

Yes, You can create your own user-defined workflows in the system. To setup these work flows in the system, go into the Member Search Options screen, then press F9=Navigator, then type in U7 (User Quick Code) on the Navigator Menu. You are allowed to type in up to 10 user-defined codes for each user. For example, if you were doing a batch entry of member information, followed by Credit Card setup and then you wanted to review their current activities, you would attach in sequence the quick access codes of "WM", "WE" and then "WA". When you are at the Member Service Center, you can type the code F0 - F9 on the option line and the system will process your user-defined code
