> Child Care table file parameter for sign up fee not being recorded correctly.

Status: We are testing and will determine the problem of why the sign up fee is only being recorded some of the time for new registrations.

Sarasota

> Request for an enhancement to the Cash Receipt Key Indicator.

Status: Ernie and I are emailing each other about this. This would be a new Key Indicator for everyone that breaks down Cash Receipts by Department.

> EZ2Access.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows issue.

Status: This error does not happen all the time and so it is difficult to determine the actual problem. We are not having this problem anywhere else. We are reviewing the software and trying to work with ASNA to help solve the problem.

> EZ2Access “Member Guest” not working correctly with Y-Metro V6.

Status: This is a problem for everyone. Software was supposed to be done last week but Y-Metro V6R2M0 was more difficult and took priority. This problem deals with clicking the “Member Guest” button on EZ2Access and an error message pops up. A work around exists by using the “green screen” system Member Guest function key until this is completed. Due date – hopefully this week. Ernie agreed to beta test.

Washington

> The "subsidy amount" field in PGMSTAT1 includes 3rd Party Amounts.

Status: We are testing and have determined that many transaction amounts/types for the datamart are being added into the same financial columns. This has been an issue since PS98 and we are talking to determine the best way to solve this problem.

Software Development:

Y-Metro Version 6, Release 2, Modification 0:

Y-Metro V6R2M0 was packaged on Friday, January 23, 2004. An email will be sent out today informing you of this release and will give specific instructions on how to download all of these changes from our website. There are a total of 274 computer programs and a total of 8 menus that were added or changed for this release. A features list of this version will be distributed with the email you receive today.

Easy to Mail:

Easy to Mail V1R1M0 will be installed onto all clients AS/400's this week. Easy to Mail is an “engine” product developed by Symmetrical Solutions that does the following three tasks:

1. A command that automatically sends emails from the AS/400.

2. A command that translates any AS/400 file to an excel spreadsheet that may then be emailed to anyone.

3. A command that translates any AS/400 spool/printer file to common PC formats such as PDF, HTML, Word Documents or Text Files.

Y-Metro Version 6, Release 3, Modification 0:

Our team is currently developing Y-Metro V6R3M0. This release includes the database and source program cleanup that we talked about in Sarasota. So far, we have removed over 600 unnecessary computer programs and over 100 database files. Your end users will not see anything new because all of these changes for the release are “behind the scenes”. We will communicate a date for this release probably sometime in Late February or early March 2004.

Easy to Register/Y-Online:

Many of you attended the conference calls with Innovative Solutions for the “First Look” at our new Y-Online System. Symmetrical is currently working with them to scope out the number of hours that it will take to complete the AS/400 side of the system. Another meeting will probably occur in February to show more screens of the system.

GO Software:

As many of you know, GO Software is the automatic credit card verification process that verifies member's credit card payments directly from the AS/400. Our team is currently discussing the GO Software options and how we are going to integrate this software tool into the base system. We are also working on pricing and will have this information to you as soon as possible.

Quick Wins:

Quick Wins are software enhancements made by Symmetrical that take less than 4 hours to complete. Quick Wins are most often the problems/issues in the systems that never seem to get corrected. We added many Quick Wins to V6R2M0 based on your suggestions. We want to thank you for your input and we ask you to keep them coming!

Front Desk Goes Browser:

The purpose of this project is to replace the front desk “green screen” system with a browser interface. Joan Ribar from Sarasota will be the project lead for us. Due to the heavy support this month and with the release of Y-Metro V6R2M0, we will not be able to begin the communication with her until the first week or second week of February. Some of the important questions to be answered are: “What is the minimum amount of information that needs to be maintained at your front desk?” “What Sales systems can we eliminate from the front desk for Phase I, for example, Campaign?” etc, etc.

Upcoming Events:

Symmetrical Solutions Developers Conference:

Our team has been working with Bill Teachum in planning the developer's conference. Bill has reserved the conference room at the YMCA for Thursday, March 25th and Friday, March 26th, 2004. Symmetrical is planning to arrive on Wednesday, sometime in the afternoon. If any of you would like to go to dinner on that Wednesday, please let us know.

We are currently working on transportation from and to the airport, hotels, meals, etc. Once we receive more information about hotel names, phone numbers, etc. we will let you know.

Tips & Techniques:

How do you copy Y-Metro production data into a training environment?

Question from three clients this Month:

We would like to update our Y-Metro 6 test environment with production data for training purposes. Would you happen to have any type of instructions or guidelines on how to do that? I'm sure it's not as simple as copying the library because of triggers and journaling.

Answer:

We recommend that you restore library YMETROF from a nightly backup to your training library (TRAINF) then continue with the following procedures:

A. Add library TRAINF and remove library YMETROF from your library list.

B. Execute the following commands from a command line in sequence.

CALL  TRGOFF  PARM(TRAINF)

ENDJRNPF  FILE(KICMINF1  KICMINF2  KICMINF3  KICMINF4  KICMINF5  KICMINF6  KICMINF7  KICMINF8  MSHSTAT1  MSHSTAT2  MSHSTAT3 MSHSTAT4  PGMSTAT1  CPGSTAT1  CPGSTAT2  CPGSTAT3)

(Execute the command CALL QMCD first to obtain a long command line)

WRKOBJPDM  TRAINF: delete all objects of type *JRNRCV and *JRN (if found)

CALL  #JOURNAL  PARM(TRAINF)

CALL  TRGON  PARM(TRAINF  x) where x is the name of your app lib (YMETRO)

After you perform the above instructions, your training environment will now contain all of your production data as of the restore date.
